Wispr Flow alternatives that keep your voice on your Mac
Looking for a Wispr Flow alternative without a subscription or the cloud? Five Mac dictation apps compared on privacy, price and features.
Wispr Flow is good at what it does. The two reasons people look elsewhere are almost always the same: it's a subscription ($15 a month, or $144 a year), and every dictation goes to the cloud — Wispr's own docs say transcription always happens on their servers.
Here are the alternatives that fix one or both, ordered by how closely they match Wispr's hold-and-talk experience. Prices checked October 2, 2026.
